I live in Vancouver WA on a small hill with a view from the North West to the South. Since August 3, 2010 I have been observing aurora activity every night. This is the 19th night in a row. I see the light green with some red at the horizon. I can see these Looking toward the North, West and South, they come over the house. There is the glow over the horizon in those directions with spears, undulating waves from the horizon up to above the house and also the waves across the horizon. They have been visible even under light to moderate clouds. I live in a slightly darkened area in town where I have a few stars and planets that are visible and dark enough to see most, except the lightest meteors. I have lived in this area for 14 years and have seen them several times to the North, but this is the first time seeing them out every window. Unfortunately there is too much light to photograph them, believe me I have tried everything. I haven't been able to get outside the area where it would be darker. Before, I lived in SE Washington state that at the time we lived outside of town and it was very dark and they would be visible only from the North and never more that a few days in a row.

Diffuse green glow near the horizon. Would occasionally grow brighter then dimmer. I thought it was strange that when the moon rose into view it to the LEFT of the glow, meaning that the glow was to the SOUTH of the point of moonrise on the hoizon. When the moon rose, the glow was no longer visible.

Very diffuse white glow along the northern horizon to about 10-20 degrees above. An occasional bright white patch would fade in and out quickly within the glow. Very hazy outside so it was difficult to determine much else. Noteworthy for this rea but nothing significant.
